We are excited to announce the launch of our blog, #crmsmacktalk!
As a certified Salesforce Consulting Partner, we use this phrase internally when we learn something new, gain a certification, win a contest or do anything “cool”. We want to share these ideas with others who live in our world of Salesforce CRM!
One of the main questions we receive is: how do you become a certified administrator for Salesforce?
I usually respond with, “You need a lot of practice.” The Salesforce tests are designed to truly test your knowledge of the solution. The good news is, Salesforce provides you with a practice log in called a developer environment. I also provide the following resources to them.
Creating a Practice Log In
Using Study Resources
The study guide is a great starting point for an Administrator Certification, however over the years, we have utilized several tools that we have found to be helpful. There are two sites that provide practice exams that we have found to be accurate.
The first is CertifiedonDemand.com, a site created by John Coppedge, who has passed seven Salesforce Certification exams. He created the site to help test takers prepare for Salesforce certification exams. On this site, you will be taken through training modules and at the end of the module you are given a quiz. Also, on the site is a full practice exam, this site was instrumental in assisting with my Administrator Certification. There is a nominal fee for full utilization of the site.
The second site is www.salesforceben.com. This site was created by Ben McCarthy, who is certified in three disciplines. The site provides a lot of valuable resources for people looking to become a Salesforce professional. One of his most popular blogs is a certified administrator mock exam. There is a five dollar fee if you would like to download the exam in a PDF format, however, the online version is free. We have found this test to be accurate as well and a good resource for those studying for this certification.
Obtaining your Administrator Certification is not an easy task. If you are lucky enough to obtain your certification, you should be proud! A Salesforce Certification combined with experience can be a great catalyst for your career.
We are excited to start this new blog series and we look forward to sharing more “smack talk” with you!
