Our role with our client is to schedule face to face appointments with qualified buyers. Prior to the appointment, we uncover who the decision maker is, fleet size, current service provider, preferred brand, do they buy new / used, or lease, etc.
Along with unit sales, our customers are equally interested in promoting the other services that an OEM dealer provides; preventative maintenance contracts, parts, and general fleet service.
What we have found to be successful regarding sales in the material handling industry is to have a dedicated effort to new business development. Simply put, understand your field sales group. Do not put a "farmer" in a job that requires a "hunter" mentality.
